I was in mexico February this year, little further down the coast than you. Highlight for me was the trip over to Chitchen Itza - totally awesome.
Understand how you felt on seeing the dogs again. I was extra careful in Cancun because the sand is soooo white and really reflects those harmful rays. My goal was to get rid of my golfer's tan, and that happened.

Precious and Mulligan just couldn't keep their paws off of us when we got home. The Mayans sound like my kind of people, except for their being hard-working of course. Sorry, you got sick. We want to go back there at some point--probably for our 25th.

One thing we noticed about Cancun--no beggars. It is nothing like the western side of Mexico. With so much building going on, everyone has a job.

In St. Thomas, we saw abject poverty as soon as we left the resort. Hopefully things have improved by now. We saw a house made of plywood and cardboard with a t.v. antenna sticking out of the roof.

I was definitely pampered in Cancun, and the place was SPOTLESS! The beach was pristine, as was the pool, except for those germs from Chicago! When we were in Chicago, my girls picked up an awful bug from their little cousin. The cousin is 3 and 3-year-old's can't help the fact that their precious little selves are just bugs waiting to sprout. Anyway, the 3-year-old fell terribly ill. It was heartbreaking to see such a little one so sick. And then of course, one by one, (never all at the same time), my girls each got it. Luckily, they are bigger and could handle it better, but for about 24 hours they had some raging fevers. Always fun on vacation.

So glad to have you back!Joann Mannixhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11163491824085428085noreply@blogger.com
