Just sit quietly for a few moments and listen.

Judie, I cannot imagine a better tribute to Dr. King. It brought me to tears. What would he think today? May we keep his Dream alive and strive to fulfill his vision. Thank you for this beautiful and heartfelt post when so many of us are in despair. I am passing this along to everyone I know and hope others will do likewise.

What a loss to your country - I'm old enough to remember that dream speech.
Beautiful children's choir.

Hi Judie,
Thanks for this touching reminder of Martin Luther King and his vision. His dream led to my school principal in Cincinnati, Ohio having all of us hold hands each morning singing, "the ink is black, the page is white...". Anyone remember that song?

Sometime though, I feel as if we are going backward, or staying where we were. Is it just me?

Thank you, Judie. I needed this today, to remind me of what is important.

I know we have spoken of the horror of the last few weeks and the hows and why's and so much of it is still not understood, maybe it won't ever be understood, madness is like that, but the one true thing that is perfectly clear is that we are Americans. We are the ancestors of those who fled oppression to come to a new land without hope or expectation. We are of the same stock of those who mined rocky fields and survived frigid weather to create a land free of injustice and opression. We come from the soldiers who lost their lives to enemies who wanted to take our freedoms. We are of the same souls of those who stormed the beaches of Normandy. We are of the same heart of those who carried on a brave, noble man's dream that all people are created equal. We are the generation who will never forget the horror of that terrible day when those who hate us engrained the date of 9/11 in our hearts. We are the people who stood side by side memorializing the brave citizens who lost their lives 2 weeks ago while exercising their most precious rights of freedom. We are Americans. And nothing will ever, ever knock us down. It is in fighting spirit and backbone of who we are. And that is what we need to remember.
