This is My Peace

The Rogue Speaks:

Thanks to a post by Mari Sterling Wilbur, I have decided to expande my horizons and participate in Roy Durham's Poe-a-tree Blog Event. Roy has given the following prompt: You are standing at the shore, looking out at the sea--what are your thoughts? Of course, it needs to be a poem. Please display all the links below and and add your own to the list. Try to visit everyone who is participating, please.

This my peace,
My solitude.
On this shore
I am renewed.
Nothing can
Touch me here.
The healing waters
Gather me up
And rock me
gently.
This is my peace.

Roy, the above photo was taken at dawn on Jekyll Island, a National Seashore off the Georgia coast. We are going there in a few weeks. We have been going there since we were children and are going back to celebrate our 25th anniversary.

Jo, thanks for the sweet comment.

That is exactly how I feel about the seashore. You described it eloquently.

You could have been writing about my healing place. Beautiful.

Oh wow, that is gorgeous, Judie! I am a "beach" person so I can totally relate to this in such a profound way.

Happy 4th of July to you and your family!!!

I like your economical style. You say in a few words, what most people have a hard time conveying with ten times the amount of words.

I was googling for an old post of mine when I came across your blog that included me in it.

I do miss Roy and the hops he initiated.

I love your poem and image.

Lots of love.
