I already had an idea for the 105th Saturday Centus, and Jenny's prompt was just perfect!! It's hard, sometimes, to work with only 100 words plus the prompt, but I think I have been succinct enough to get my point across. The prompt is in bold type.

“It is our pleasure to have you on the show!” Nadya Suleman heard that a lot in the
beginning. She had dreams of becoming
the next Kate Goslin, as if that was something to be proud of. I believe her sole purpose for having 14
children was to be a star. Too bad she
was so incredibly stupid, not to mention unattractive.
Now her children, some of whom have health problems, are
living in squalor and will soon be without a home. They are living on welfare! The taxpayers are footing the bill for her dreams
of stardom! Her next stop? The porn industry!

Some people in this wonderful world do live in such shame don't they....who suffers, the children. The poor sad children......! I like how you weaved this story into Jenny's prompt, I really came to my computer (early) and had nothing! Of course that's how I like it....for me it's fun to just feel it out once I read the prompt, and go from there....Judie I always enjoy catching up with stuff from you posts!

Judie, this woman is a bad story from beginning to end. Those poor children did not ask for such a life. Let's hope she will get her second act together and be real. This is entirely pathetic.
well I broke my own rule of reading a story written with the prompt, before writing my own entry ... but damn that title caught my eye and I instantly wanted to read you entry ... and it was worth it. Octomom is just a horrible person to commit, what i consider to be, crimes against children, by depriving them of a "normal" or at least "chance of a normal" childhood. and it's only downhill from here .... shame shame on her ...

An interesting take on the prompt. The family's situation looks like it's getting desperate because of a lack of thought prior. Wealth and fame are elusive. Children are precious. One thing should not be sort at the expense of another. I hope things turn out for the betterment of the children.
I do like your take on the prompt, juxtaposing a positive with a topic which most often brings negative attitudes. Nice contrast!
I love it when you rant, Judie! You get so salty, but only when it's called for. This gal is too fat to be a porno queen. Welfare queen, maybe, but not porno queen.
I had a feeling that would be the last stop for her. I watched her interview on Dr. Drew....she is not right in the head. Narcissistc. No second thoughts to how she will be perceived in the eye's of her own children and when they become school age don't you know they will take the brunt of her selfish actions. What will these children have to look up to let alone look forward to?

Her fertility doctor lost his license for allowing her to carry all those embryos! He's fighting to get it back. What a creep! Also, I recently read that Nadya is a hoarder and has been since she was very young. Hoarding children???? That's just SICK!!!

Really sad state of affairs, the greater need for doctors to screen patients and their background before these procedures. She comes off as crazy, one of those self destructive individuals who create havoc all around for parents, children, society to bear.
Here singles are not even allowed to adopt except in certain cases so IVF and likes are out of question...btw its bloody expensive out here how did she manage it so many times?

For those who live across the pond, Nadya Suleman already had 6 children by IVF when she became pregnant with 8 more, again by IVF. The doctor who did the procedure lost his medical license for having implanted the embryos and allowing all to stay. Nadya tried to become a t.v. star with her own reality show, but failed. She is broke, and is looking to become a porn star in order to make money--anything to keep her in the limelight! Disgusting.

__the "gleaners" owe something to to those poor children. Mayhaps the TV nets, the tabloids, news papers, authors... all those that gained, and those that... contributed to that circus, and bought ($) in to that stupid hype.

Oh thanks for the background. There is clearly something wrong with this woman, maybe a personality disorder, maybe she is mentally ill. My take on it is that sadly there are always weird and inadequate people around dragging everyone else down. Always have been, always will be. There are also people who make money and exploit them. To my way of thinking, the person who has most responsibility is the doctor who presumably IS sane, and has a job to do in a professional way. He's just as much responsible for making those kids as she is, if you think about it! Without him, they wouldn't exist.
But he has a responsiblity to act responsibily in his WORK, just as much as train drivers or airline pilots or others do, whose work affects human life. No person should see their job as creating problems and making money out of vulnerable and innocent children, and this guy must have made thousands by doing this.
As for her, I hope that there is a social worker involved in protecting those kids who never asked for any of this. But giving her publicity is exactly what she wants, the poor nutcase, and you can bet some TV producers etc. also saw her and her pathetic kids as a way of making money. This isn't a victimless crime, but the victims are the kids and the winners are the people who have made money out of exploiting their plight.
Well, that's what I think anyhow though I guess many will disagree with me !! Interesting discussion!

I don't think any sane person would disagree with you on your excellent points. The TV producers dropped her like a hot potato when they realized just what a pathetic woman she is. She was on several talk shows early on, but that circuit dried up as soon as she opened her mouth. Every penny she's ever earned has gone towards her own selfish desires, and now she is on welfare. I greatly resent my tax money going to someone who thinks that being a porn star will be her ticket to success.
