It's time once again for Jenny's Alphabe-Thursday, and our letter this week is "F." Summer in coastal Georgia always comes with houseguests. The first group to visit the McEwen Plantation/Bed and Breakfast left last Friday. Our youngest grandchildren, Keillor and Emaline, were here for two weeks along with their parents. These two are among the brightest and most engaging four-year-olds that one could ever hope to meet.

They played in the surf with their parents, and built sand castles, but even the beach can get a little tiring when it's so hot, so one day Emaline wanted to go to the Museumof Science and History in Jacksonville.

Keillor and Emaline have very smart, wonderful, loving parents who have taught their children from the beginning to be polite and helpful. They always say "Please" and "Thank you," and "I'm sorry" when they misbehave. They know how to set the table for meals, how to clear their dishes when they have eaten, and even know how to put a fresh roll on the toilet paper holder without even being asked. These children are the future of our country in the best sort of way. They are bright, energetic, and loving. These are definitely not spoiled, lazy kids.
They left for home on June 21st, and the next houseguest arrived the following day. Today is June 27th.
A fresh roll of toilet paper has been sitting on the toilet tank for two days now. I have no intention of installing it on the holder. Someone else should have taught that lesson a long time ago. It's not rocket science. It's very, very sad.

We have had a few house guests this summer too. Yep...hold off on the toilet paper. Too funny. That human body exhibit looks fantastic! I enjoyed visiting here. Have a great weekend!

What beautiful gandchildren you have. And so wonderful they came to visit for so long. Luck y you.
Great post and awesome photos and what a lovely family you have ~ 'don't let the turkeys get you down.'
You are blessed with a beautiful family!
So wonderful to have you 'visit' ~ good to 'see you'.
Well, I guess the future of America is saved with Keillor and Emaline at the helm! Your "next houseguest" had better get on the ball!
Cute kids, fun post!
Future...nice pick for F! How nice to have a visit with your grandkids. Fun pictures.
Enjoyed your full-of-hope blog....grandkids are our hope....expecting our first grandbaby this November♫♪
Those grands are great kids! Today a woman allowed her four children to ransack our sticker basket and when they were done they left possible four or five stickers. What is so sad is that we filled it yesterday with at least 100 new stickers. No thank you. No manners whatsoever! I find our world today lacking in so much. It is refreshing to see young children with good manners. I enjoyed our post today and thanks for the smiles.
and takes only a few seconds.
Your grandchildren look like they're having lots of fun. (It's fun to see your grandchildren in the sidebar as well.)
Let's hope more kids are like Keillor and Emaline!
Fortunately never had any troubles with our guests, except with our son, who teaches now his son an exceptional education, but has forgotten his own, lol ! Still messy when he comes to mum !
sounds like you are on vacation all year round. Looks wonderful! And is the toilet seat up or down? {:-Deb
The kids: Great!
The toilet paper: Not so great.
Ha! Your first house guests sound wonderful, the second, not so much. Perhaps the second has something else wonderful to offer the future. :))
If they don't learn it young, then there is just no hope for them in the future. For some reason, some people think that as long as they are book-smart, the social skills don't matter. In all my 71 years, I have heard MANY TIMES " Yeah, o.k., so they're smart, but other than that, they are useless." First and foremost, one needs to know how to interact with people, and be kind, helpful, sincere, etc. Otherwise, all their knowledge means NOTHING!!
Amen to the TP roll and learning to close the lid! Enjoy round two.~Ames
They do sound like very special kids. I have to admit that I never even thought to teach my kids to put up a new roll of toilet paper when they were that age. Now we can't put up rolls of toilet paper because one of the cats shreds them to pieces. Our rolls have to sit on the back of the toilet.
What Fantastic grandkids! Just this morning I had to flip the roll of t.p. around because it was on "wrong"...but at least it was on! :)
Those two are adorable. What fun to have them for a good, long visit. It is a lovely thing to see your grandchildren being raised to be the sort of people our world needs.
And yes, I believe it starts with 'please, thank you' and changing the toilet roll.
It is so frustrating finding the toilet paper like that...
But summer at your place sounds like a lot of fun...
You have such a fabulous family!
Thanks for linking to the letter "F".
Fantastic job!
