The Rogue Speaks:
Saturday Centus really crept up on me--I am still reading Alphabe-Thursday entries. Jenny has come up with a challenging prompt this week, so here goes:
The early November sunshine cast golden rays across the daybed in the den. A shaft of sunlight has fallen across her sweet face and makes me catch my breath. I cannot bear to lose her, and yet I feel her suffering with every beat of my heart. We have a secret language, a language of the eyes, created by all the years together.
I call her name, and she looks up at me. The sadness and pain in those beautiful eyes brings tears to my own. I bend to touch her and feel fever heat. My heart is breaking. The time has come for the last goodbye.

This so sad, but a lovely poem to remember her by.
Judie: I'd be delighted to have my poem, Early November Sunshine..., on your blog with a link back to me as the author. What a pleasure. Thank you.
I also wrote the Saturday Centus with some sadness in mind after the death of a loved one. I think you must have caught that:)
Stunning!
Dear Judie,
Thank you for your kind words about my SC-texts. My goodness, it sounds like a wild place if your cat can be dragged off by a coyotes! We have bobcats (or lynxes) here. But what is a raptor? (I'll have to look that one up.)
What a beautiful text you have written... and a heart-breaker. Please tell me that this is purely fiction... But something tells me this is all too real.
I am sorry for your loss.
Best wishes and hugs,
Anna

This really made me cry, it's unbearably sad, they are so very precious, I'm so sorry ... a beautifully touching poem.
Lizzy looks absolutely adorable as does Mulligan, wonderful pictures of two lovely lovely dogs :o)
This made me teary, having lived it too many times.
Incredibly well captured!
Judie-sad, but beautiful. The death of a loved one is the hardest thing we have to bear in life. Because everything we love is irreplaceable.
Oh Judie my heart aches. I have also lost a little fur child and know how you feel. But I take comfort in believing that all dogs go to heaven and she will be first in line to greet me when I go home. Your use of the prompt is seamless.Blessings!~Ames
This was heartbreaking, but beautifully written. I hope that your lovely use of the prompt is cathartic for you. Hugs, Kat
This is so beautiful and amazingly sad but uplifting in a way. If that makes sense, ha. One will be left behind but with wonderful memories of the other. Excellent Centus.
so sad, yet beautiful ... it's amazing how they own our hearts ... ... wishing you peace ...
So beautifully written, Judie. My eyes filled up with tears as I read your words. You conveyed all those aching feelings in just a short use of language, and you touched everyone's heart. Be at peace with the thought that she is at peace, and hug Lizzy....
This is so heartbreaking. I hope you find new love ease your pain. Mulligan must be very happy to have a new companion. Lizzy is sooo cute! Love those ears!!
Beautiful, painful, and sad all the same, but such a great story written in only a few words..
I'm so sorry for your loss. We lost our beautiful Carrie sheltie in June and I know those feelings of loss you so thoughtfully describe. Her eyes will always be with me. Those sweet doggies bring such love and joy to our lives. WE have a new puppy too! Betsy Belle and she keeps us very busy along with Bonnie who is now 12 yrs old. They are such great companions!
Blessings to you,
Coralie
Oh my, I am so sorry Judie.
Judie--hugs.
I know exactly how you feel. You captured it so well in words.
On a side note, I see you have listed as a favorite--The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. I just finished reading it for my upcoming book club meeting and loved it.
So sorry, Judie. A lovely tribute, though.
Hugs to you.
=)
