Do Me A Flavor
This prompt for Saturday Centus brought back some sweet and tender memories. That phrase, or at least part of it, is one that is very familiar to me, because it was used by one of my dearest friends ever. “Hey, can you do me a flavor?” “Sure! What is it?” I heard that so often in our relationship over the years. I never heard “a birthday party flavor” but it could have been spoken at some point, had he not died young.
It’s strange how a phrase, when heard years later, can bring on a smile, or a tear. What an amazing thing our memory is!
Short but sweet, Centusians! Jenny really came up with a winner this week, so start writing! I'm coming over to check on you!!

It is interesting how we develop little sayings amongst friends and family...dichos, as they are called in spanish....and how they take on a meaning all their own.
Hope you are settling in nicely in the new digs. Have a great weekend.
How sad. Sometimes I wonder why more people don't ask for flavors in life. Maybe they are afraid they will be requird to reciprocate.~Ames
what a wonderful memory to keep ...
That was one of my friend's statements, too. Yes, this prompt brought back great memories!
aww, what a cute saying! i want to incorporate that into my vocabulary now.
Little moments, short phrases - we never know what will bring a memory suddenly to life. It's nice that this one brought to mind a dear friend.
Okay you can come check mine! :) Thanks for sharing such a sweet memory of yours for this week's prompt, because I really was taken by surprise! I kept hearing favor but just ignored it and wrote about a party ....What a beautiful song you have playing ..it ties the perfect bow.....on your special package.
And now you have reminded me of a friend who frequently used that same phrase. I have lost contact with her. I wonder if she still says it. If I had read Jenny's prompt correctly, I too might have written about my friend this week. So sorry you lost your friend. laurie @ http://dealingwithmyinnercritic.blogspot.com/
Your words are so powerful and filled with emotion although you are short and sweet today!
Ahhhh...
This was such a poignant little piece.
I will always be willing to do you a flavor!
Hope you're getting the house painted!
