This Saturday Centus is taken from real life--just not MY life, thank goodness. The prompt(s) are in bold type.
EXCUSES
“You’re drunk again,” she said, eyeing him suspiciously.
“Why do you have to be so critical!” he said, “I’m doing the
best I can! I’m trying! But it’s hard! The pressure at work—well, you just don’t
understand!”
“Stop making excuses!
Other people have pressures, and they don’t come home and get
blasted! I have pressures! I have frustrations!”
“Just don’t leave me here alone, and maybe I wouldn’t be
tempted!!”
“Do you hear yourself??
You want me to stay with you constantly when you are at home?? Don’t you dare put this all on me!!! Stop it!!!!
You’re an adult, for God’s sake!!
Now, head on over to Jenny's and read the rest of the offerings! Happy weekend!!!

I think this scenario is sadly true for far too many people. Great take on the prompt.
Reading that just makes me sad.
Oh, my goodness! Been there but years ago. Glad it is not here anymore.
Great job on the prompt.
I'm just so glad this is not MY problem. It's such a hard one to live with.
Such a sad truth for so many people. Well done. laurie
Good take Judie. I know someone like that. She was afraid to leave her house. He divorced her and we see her all over town now.~Ames
So very true for so many of us. You pierced a heart (maybe more than one) today, Judie!
Well done! Liz
When I taught classes at the local high school, we were asked to post the classroom rules on the board for the students each September. I used to write, "No Excuses." That says it all.
Ah yes, the person who takes no accountability for their stupid self and other-destructive choices - we all know him/her. I'm glad this is NOT your life, my friend. I'm also glad it's not mine.
PS SO VERY excited for you! WOOHOO. I know you'll keep us updated on your new life. A safe and exciting transition to you two, Judie.
Hugs xo Robyn
Such a sad topic! So many struggle with this! You write wonderfully Judie!
yikes!
It's all someone else's fault, right?
Responsibility for personal actions?
God forbid!
It's always everyone elses fault.
I haven't ever heard "I know you by Heart" before.
What a gorgeous song.
It's poignancy really fits your words...what a lonely life that is!
