The Snuggie

The Rogue Speaks:

ARRGH!!! Blogger's messing with my head again, so please click on the title of my Snuggie post so you can leave a comment.  Thanks!!!!

Saturday, already?  With trying to get ready to move, I have really lost count of the days!  I have been cleaning out closets and bagging up stuff for Rod to take to Good Will.  When our son, Jeff, whose funny remarks you've read here before, was little, he called it Uncle Will!  So here is my offering for Saturday Centus--it fits in perfectly with my life right now.

“The Snuggie"

I know you know "The Snuggie,"
that flimsy piece of fleece,
that's touted on the t.v.
by a guy as slick as grease.
"I know Mum would love one!"
Rod chortled with a grin.
"She loves a warm and cozy robe
to sit and daydream in."
I eyed him quite suspiciously.
“He’s joking” s’what I thought.
He seemed so very happy
With the ugly thing he bought.
He listened as the hawker said
In glee, “But wait!  There’s more!”
And did they send us two of those?
Those morons sent us FOUR!!!
Good Will’s around the corner.
I loaded up my car.
Let someone else discover
How cheap those Snuggies are!

I feel over-heated just looking at the picture. That was great!

Love it! I was the recipient of some sort of sandwich maker my Dad saw on TV. He ended up with 4 of them! My sons kinda did an eye-roll thing when they opened their Christmas presents from Grandpa!

You really need to check out the Huggie. It's a Snuggie without sleeves. It's great for when you need stay warm but don't want to look like a deranged wizard.

Okay, I'm still laughing, and actually grabbed my own beige (although I love the version) of the ever wonderful (they have them for dogs too Ha! Ha!) snuggies are so comfortable! I must be a bit behind in reading (it's been a too packed summer so far) but are you moving away from the desert? Do tell! Sounds like you are going (possibly to one of my most favorite places).....

Ha ha! My 86 year old friend , who lives on a pension, bought me a hot pink one for Christmas two years ago. She was so excitd for me to open her package...we always include her in family functions because she has no family here. Her excitement made her gift even more special. But the best thing about my hot pink Snuggie??? My girls love to burrow into it and sleep for hours in their crate :D ~Rock on!~Ames

Hilarious, Judie! Gosh, I haven't stopped by in so long, I don't know anything about you moving! I better start reading your older posts!

Oh! I am laughing out loud. I've always laughed at the commercials, but your poem was even funnier! I love it. Very well done, Judie. laurie

superb! I started smiling and ended with a chuckle...I think it starts with buying into those silly infomercials! Great job!

The Snuggie that Rod bought for me never left the package! Ames is the one with the hot pink one, and her dogs sleep on it in their crate!

This made me laugh so hard, because one time when I went to visit my mother in Florida one fall she thought that me going back to the Northeast was like a sentence and I would surely freeze to death. Now mind you I had a limit for bags for my trip back and on the day I was leaving she hands me a box with one of those snuggies and I was OMG, no way. Well I managed to bring it home and honestly after three years, I have no idea where it is. Tried it once at least.

Enjoyed your poem. Perhaps, I should keep this info to myself, but, here goes.

I have a snuggie. I purchased it on one of those "as seen on TV" end caps at Target. I actually use mine all year long. My husband can't take any heat and our house is so cold that I have to bundle up to say indoors year round. I never watch TV without slipping into my snuggie and then covering it with a fleece throw.

This was really cute Miss Judie!

Our oldest granddaughter wanted a Snuggie soooo bad for Christmas. It took us forever to find one (she told us too late to order it!) and I think she only used it once.

It was all kinds of cheap and flimsy!

You are not only charming but so clever with words! Those snuggies remind me of some sort of cult! Like an opened ended straight jacket!
