WHY LOVE DIES

The Rogue Speaks:

It's time again for Saturday Centus, presented for our edification and enjoyment by Jenny Matlock.  Each week, we are given a prompt, and one hundred extra words with which to create a story.  This week's prompt is in bold type, and here is my story:

WHY LOVE DIES

“Joss, your words are puzzling to me.  I thought you loved me.  Now, you don’t want to be married any more?  How did this happen?  Are you in love with someone else?”

“No, I’m not in love with someone else.  And, yes, I did love you, but you have destroyed that love.  Your life is all about you, Fiona.  You never admit when you are wrong, and you never say you are sorry and really mean it.  You are an adult, for Christ’s sake!  Grow up!  Stop blaming everyone else for your problems!!!

“You have a whore, don’t you!!”

“Good-bye, Fiona.”

“You have a whore, don’t you!!” -- what a line! it erupts somehow & changes the moment slightly. sad to read this scene but this does happen.

have a great day.

ps. I was soooo certain you'd offer up a little thought or two on the use of words (or keeping one's mouth shut) after this week...but then, foolish me...I didn't notice that you already posted THAT one!! Gotta go read it...quick!! :)

Oh, and re the one woman show...you are soooo sweet... I have had a show, back when Sue Anderson and I released our book, "His Children"...maybe I need to send you a copy...email me your address and I'll throw one in the mail to you. Hugs!

whoa! you said the "w" word!
actually it was very well placed in the story ... interesting how some people never move beyond their own selves ... I've met a few of those ... glad it has only been a few ...
nicely done Judie!

There's none so deaf as those who will not hear.

Oh dear...great that he left when he still got the chance. Great that sometimes we can see through "undying love". I love your story. Kudos to you! Mine is here
Have you an AWESOME WEEKEND!

I hope he's running very fast! Great one liners ...they just fit perfectly with your hot little story of dead love! I hope you're enjoying your new digs....and your weather.- As for giving a tape dispenser as a gift, I have! That would be a sure one too! Cool beaded tape dispenser shoe!

What did he see in Fiona to begin with? She did not just become a deaf bitch overnight. In analyzing your title, I'm not sure Fiona is the sole reason for the loss of love. Please post the back story (when you make it up, of course).

JJ, love is blind, you know. Who knows why two incompatible people are drawn to each other and later realize that they have made a mistake. Then, there are people who present one way just to get in a more comfortable position, but cannot keep up the front, OR get caught in so many lies that the light-blub finally goes on.

Sadly, many people marry for the wrong reasons, and when they realize that their needs can never be met, it is too late.
