The Rogue Speaks:
My offering for this week's
Whimsical Wednesday is another gourd. This one is made in the form of a bird, and contains the body feathers of a peacock on his head and chest. This fellow is sitting on a piece of wood that I found in the desert. Gourds lend themselves to all sorts of creative endeavors!

Oh my those the lovely blue speaks to me! You bring back memories of my desert hunts when I used to visit my grandfather! Great piece of whimsy! I have to post mine in a bit too! Thanks for the music too....sets a mellow mood of whimsical joy! Thanks Judie!
stunning! yet so wonderfully whimsical!!! and wow, this just rocks Judie!!
Love the colors Judie! How long did it take you to make this interesting piece? Do you trek off in the desert often? I always find feathers, or a unique pod or shell or rock or even little eggs that have fallen from a nest that has been ransacked by some creature looking for food. I give them places of honor in and around the outside of my home.~Ames
The colors are just gorgeous, Judie, and I had to look at the photo several times. I never would have known it was a gourd!
ok, this is fabulous - what a creation - so well done
Amazes me what people do with gourds! Nice :)
Delicious composition with excellent colors.
Oh, Judie! This is gorgeous! I just love the colors on this piece :) It's quite a uniquely shaped gourd too. I just love this!
Gorgeous and I love the colors!
I am sooooo down on this desert right now! Our little girl, Liz, is recovering from a rattlesnake bite, and I am ready to leave this place for a safer area!! Thanks for all the nice comments!!
Wonderful! You always make me smile!
This is amazing! I'm reading a book right now (Same Sweet Girls) and one of the characters is a gourd artist. I had no idea they were to intricate and beautiful.
This is such a gorgeous creation, Judie. Sorry about the rattlesnake! That's scary..
