The Hapless Ratter!

The Rogue Speaks:

This is going to be a very quick post--a lot quicker, in fact, than our Mulligan trying to catch a packrat in our back yard.

Mulligan chased the packrat right into the rolled up pool cover. Rod had to unroll the cover and pull it over the pool to find the packrat, who jumped in the water and started swimming for his life. Rod scooped him out of the pool with the pool scoop, and he jumped down and started to run away.

Note: If you weigh more than 14 pounds, don't try to chase a packrat across the pool, especially when the cover is on it.

My mom's poodle likes to walk across their pool cover. Silly doggie.

If your mom's poodle actually gets all the way across and hops out on the other side, that is an accomplishment! Mulligan got half-way across and then said, "Uh-oh!"
Paige, thanks for your comment!!

Poor Mulligan! But he gave it a good shot. Good to know that pooper scoopers have many other uses! Rod was very creative in problem solving this one.. :)

Laughing out loud! We had a dumb English Cocker who would forget the pool was there when she decided to race across the yard and bark at the UPS truck. Fortunately we never had a pool cover on but she fell in many times. You never have a dull moment at your house huh?

He's outside as I type! Thinks he knows where the packrat is hiding, and is on a stake-out!!

This cracked me up! I can jsut visualize the ensuing chaos as the whole event unfolded!

Thanks for the chuckle, Miss Judie.

Hope it's a drama free day there today!

Great story. Reminds me of Wylie Coyote running off the cliff, then realizing where he is.

Bad enough he did it once--then he did it again!! We had to sit him down and have a little talk. Today, so far, so good!

I love the way that animals surprise us. We have a bearded collie and her favourite house mate is our house rabbit. They have a mutual understanding Thumper poops Tilly cleans up and then thumper allows Tilly to clean him . Think it is safe to say Thumper is Top rabbit

Ha ha! That is so funny. What a character that Mulligan is. Good thing he keeps you smiling since he is not that great of a mouse catcher. ;-)
