The Plot Thickens!!

The Rogue Speaks:

Jenny's Saturday Centus is always a challenge. Now Ames has given us a prompt that should really make imaginations run wild. I know that a lot of you are not really interested in sci fi, but since the genre has pulled me in, and is holding my brain hostage, I thought I would give you a little taste of what is happening with Scott and Selah these days in their sector under The Surface. The prompt is in bold type.

*********************

“I have some new fruits that I have developed, “ said Reaya. “Perhaps I could bring them, so you can have a taste before I introduce them to the others.

“Great!“ Scott said enthusiastically. “We’ll set a date and give you a call!”

As soon as they were out of earshot, Scott turned to Selah. “Something’s not right! How could they seem so happy, so relaxed? It doesn't make sense! And Reaya! She barely remembers the archives?? How can that be?”

The two walked quietly past the crowd of people at the doorway. There was a mystery developing here, and it was growing bigger by the minute.

Awesome and fun, Judie. Great (or twisted?) minds think alike. I also did a sequel to my sci-fi post with this prompt!

Great job, Judie. I would like to have the whole story whenit is finished to read from beginning to end. I tried reading your previous postings of the story but was getting confused as to how to read them because there seemed to be a gap from one posting to last Saturday's or from last Saturday's to where you picked up in the following postings - like something was out of place, so when you are finished with the story, email it to me so Ican read it in its entirety please - thanks - E ;)

Tantalizing, Judie!

Judie-you have found your forte. Seventy years ago, you would've been writing cliffhangers for Republic Pictures.

Reminds me of a scene from the old Twilight Zone...good one...

I'm really liking this Judie. Sci fi is generally not my cup of tea, but you've really pulled me in with your great characters. I have a feeling that perhaps they shouldn't taste that fruit! Great continuation and use of the prompt! Kat

Good job, Judie. It took me a second to see where you were going with this but I got on board pretty quickly and enjoyed the ride!

Loved how you used the prompt as your ending! I love Sci Fi, too.

And thank you for your comment on my blog! You got right to the heart of an issue that has been plaguing me and summed it up simply and profoundly, all at once.

Reaya's fruit must be special, that's why she's so happy--they stole it from her! But glad you're continuing this route. Lot's of fun! Did you get my message?

Oh dear this 100 words or less makes this read oh so mysterious...what oh what could it be? Hmmmmm....tell us....please!

Judie said...

Dear Karen,
Well, that fruit isn't poisoned apples, that's for sure. Thanks for the nice comment!

Very nice indeed. All that detail so nicely compact in 100 words - brilliant. Would love to see more of this one :)

Dun dun dun! And the plot thickens indeed! I love how you always manage to tie in Saturday Centus with your story. Of course, it's leaving me wanting more since the story is only 100 words! Looking forward to more of this mystery!

JJ said...

Judie: What do you think is the element that has people wanting more? Don't answer it. Just ponder it.

Judie said...

JJ, I sent you an email on this.

Clever and creative...the one I remember, Scott came back from the surface hurt...so is it some new takeover ploy??

Judie said...

I think Scott will tell me when he's ready.

More, please...? ;)

DON'T EAT THE FRUIT! That's what I think. So great, Judie. You're really fabulous at creating those cliffhangers.

And my eye is perfect. In fact, I just went for another stupid checkup and the eye is doing exactly what it's supposed to do. So sorry to hear about your eye troubles. Get to that doctor right quick!

And come on over to the wine cellar and house anytime!
