Rainy Day Centus

The Rogue Speaks:

Jenny's Saturday Centus always makes us put on our thinking caps, and sometimes causes sparks to shoot out of the top of my head. Occasionally the wheels start grinding too fast. My hair even caught on fire a little, but I needed a trim anyway. I always have to take two aspirin when I am finished writing. In case you don't know, Arizona is suffering a drought. We really do need rain, and the chance of rain today is 40%. I am torn! I would love to see the heavens open up for a couple of hours, just to wash the dust away, but Liz and Mulligan are not at all happy about going out in the rain to do "their business,"
and Rod is playing in the final day of a big tournament at our club. But enough about MY day--Here's another woman's day for you to read about:

"April showers bring May flowers," she kept repeating to herself. The rain had been relentless for days, and her garden had literally washed away. Good thing she had ordered extra seeds! It was too wet, and even the geese had come inside to dry off.

The cacophony had become unbearable with all her pets inside. Fortunately they were not fighting with each other, but it was definitely crowded, and she kept bumping into them whenever she turned around.

Finally she just couldn't take it. "Noah!" she screamed, "Get in here and help me! This wasn't MY idea, you know!!"

Well Judie, you are one of the first bloggers who ever made me laugh out loud upon reading this great story. Wow! I didn't see that coming, which made it all the more delicious!

I wish Rod the very best in the tournament and hope that you get just enough rain to wash away the dust, but that it clears up in time for doggy "needs." Have a great weekend!

Well its wasn't Noah's idea either...maybe he should have taken a leaf out of his namesake's book and build a barn....lovely, creative and original....

Haha! What a fantastic twist at the end. It's a nice idea that the people on the ark were thinking about the "May flowers" that would come at the end of the flood.

A chuckle at the very end, very smart.

I love it! Great take on the rain, and Noah's ark!

Maybe you should go outside and do a rain dance Judie. They work down here! But I think I'd wait until Rod was done golfing, or else he might turn into a "lightning Rod!" ~Ames

Wow, you have said it all, especially after a wonderful day of "real, honest to goodness" rain throughout the day and into the evening. The desert finally gets a drink! I can hardly wait for the May flowers.

Judie: This is off topic, but I was reading Akseli's blog and I saw your comment. I think your sci fi writing is terrific. Finish the book!!

Judie,

You never fail to amaze me with that imagination of yours. Once more, you had me hooked, even feeling bad for you - and BANG! - that twist at the end. Thanks for the laugh!

Judie, I hope you realize how good you are at this. You manage to hit a bulls-eye every time. And your introduction was equally funny and- may I add-enlightening! I never knew aspirin could put out a fire.
