Here's What's Important

The Rogue Speaks:

It is almost 4 p.m. here in Tucson, and I am just now beginning to write my Saturday Centus. Don't ask me why, because, believe me, you don't want to hear about my day yesterday. Let me just say that it involved the "good drugs" and some stitches.

Jenny thinks that her prompt is easy and gentle, but what does she know??? There are just not many ways one can go with this, and I decided to take the easy way out and write something contemporary. The prompt is in bold type.

I'd like to teach the world to sing about perseverance, dedication, and success. Obama has brought down the 9/11 murderer in a daring raid on Bin Laden's compound in Pakistan. Clinton had Bin Laden in his sights, but couldn't pull the trigger. Bush put him on the back burner in favor of going after Sadam and those WMD's that really never existed in Iraq, trying to show up the elder Bush. Now all the people who lost loved ones on that September day have closure.

I am grateful that America has a leader who knows what is important.

wow! this was contemporary ... and a huge issue, not just for you in the good old US of A but internationally ... Your take on the prompt was completely unexpected, but completely real ... an issue that has been on everyone's mind at one point or another i'm sure ... bravo

I think the nation will give him this one. However, I have read Bill's memoirs and other writings, and George's Decision Points. I do look at people's accomplishments, and recognize failures as human qualities. However, I hesitate to read evil intentions into someone's actions.

One factor that has kept America great is the support its citizens give their leaders, even when they disagree with ideology.

I hope tomorrow is a better day for you than yesterday was, my friend.

so, so so good. You put into words exactly how I feel about it.

ps, we must hear about the good drugs and stitches. :)

A BIG Amen to that, Judie. Hope the good drugs take away whatever pain you have with the stitches.

Hey Judie, this was a great post. You simplified the madness as much as anyone could.

PS Got some spare drugs? Either way, I hope you're healing smoothly.

Here's to hoping that security-related concerns return to a more normal level.

Love that you were so topical with your response!

I'm glad that Bin Laden has been laid to rest. And I do think it was a gutsy call on Obama's part.

First, I hope you are okay, my sister. What happened? You have me concerned....

Second, this was an excellent post! I have never read these thoughts phrased so succinctly. Yes he can and yes, he did!

I hope you are feeling better. I posted yesterday but see it didn't take. I think it is because you have word verification and I didn't realize it. I must have moved too quickly. Xoxoxo~Ames

I'd like to teach the world to sing... ON KEY... because they sure weren't during My Old Kentucky Home before the Derby.

Drugs and stitches...oh, my, hope you are doing o.k.

Just when I thought I had purged myself of the whole Bin Laden media madness, you pull me back in. Very well written and a really unexpected use for this prompt !

I see it! I see it! I see the Redtail hawk--beautiful! Thanks for sharing the story of this hawk with me. (I also see the owl poem in your right sidebar!)

Hi Judie,

I hope you are ok. Good drugs might be nice, but stitches aren't that great.

You succinctly sang it right. President Obama certainly showed courage, and daring. Why is it that his critics still continue to find that he does no right then? It makes me crazy!
Hope you are mending. Take Care of yourself.

Judie,

You distilled down the words that so many of us have been thinking. Great post - so much in so little space. Thanks.

Namaste.........cj

I love how you tackle subjects in a rush of directness.

Glad that the victims have closure. I'm sure it brings the past pain to the surface again. I'm saying a prayer that they have peace in the moment.

Hope you are not sick? Everyone is asking if you are okay? Hugs!

Judie, this was powerful.

I hope the stitches are all better.

I'm sending this to a few people I know.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this.
