Shaman

The Rogue Speaks:

Hungrily, he bit into the warm slice, and immediately his taste buds began to dance with delight. The crust was perfect, and the aroma of fresh herbs filled his nostrils. He had been looking forward to this meal !

Her garden had been bountiful this year, and the tomatoes, peppers, and onions were bursting with the old-fashioned flavor of years gone by. There was another flavor, however, that he couldn’t readily identify.

“What kind of pizza is this?” he asked, as the room began to shimmer and sway, and sparkle with strange lights.

“Oh, you’re tasting the mushrooms I bought from the old Indian man,” she replied.

What a great prompt Jenny has given us for Saturday Centus! Be sure to read the other offerings. I'm off to a Guild meeting, and of course, I'm late!!

p.s. The picture you see is labeled as Tony Grey Owl Native American Cherokee Shaman, from Facebook!

No credit was given to the artist, but I believe the painting is the work of Susan Seddon Boulet, who was a very gifted and spiritual artist.

What a great photo you found, Judie, to go with this post. "Shrooms," eh? Well, that's one pizza that would be a trip!

When I was younger my father and friends would go out this time of year to secret places lol to find mushrooms. You have to be careful or you could poison your family. Now I see mushroom all around where I live but would not take the chance. The picture is wonderful, I love how the artist had created a feeling of depth to it. I started following you!! Just let me know what image you want and I'll email it to you! I appreciate your asking me!

Judie-you are the master of surprise endings. But what does an innocent like you know about magic mushrooms?

Judie said...

Hahahaha! Marty, you got me! Rod and I led such sheltered lives when we were younger! I was once offered marijuana when I was in my 20s by a neighbor who worked at the IRS. She had gotten it from a co-worker! I was too afraid to try it! Having said that, I have seen documentaries on those "magic mushrooms." That is the sole extent of my knowledge on the subject!

I never tried magic mushrooms either, Judie. My own life is trip enough!

Brilliant my dear friend!

LOL...you had me so hungry for pizza at the beginning, but I loved the magic shroom ending. And that picture is beautiful. Oh, and on that topic--your "Toe Collection" photo is absolutely awesome. I find myself staring at it because of the many lovely emotions it evokes. It should be a poster or greeting card or something.
