SO LONG, SCUM-BAG!!!!

The Rogue Speaks:

Jenny thought I would jump right on this Saturday Centus prompt this morning, but I have gotten behind in my post reading this week, and wanted to try to get caught up, first. If you haven't read my Thursday post, please do, and you'll see why I am a little behind.

Since we have more words to work with today, I am just going to jump right in with my "conversation:"

"Where have you been??? I've been sitting here for thirty minutes!!"

"Long story. Let me have a drink, and then we'll talk. Waiter! Vodka Martini with three olives. Oh, and just wave the vermouth cork over the glass. Thanks."

"You look like you've been 'shot at and missed, and.....'"

"Don't!! Don't finish that line! That is exactly the way I feel! Do you have aspirin?"

"Sorry. Did you eat today? Do you want an appetizer? You shouldn't drink on an empty stomach!"

“Whatever.”

“So what’s going on????”

“Dirk and I are through. Remember that trip he took to Singapore? Well, he wasn’t alone. The president of the overseas branch called, looking for him, and he told me how much he enjoyed meeting me. I told him I’d have Dirk call.”

“Does Dirk know he called?”

“Ohhhh, yessss! He’s home, packing. Waiter!”

“Are you seriously ordering another Martini?”

“Guess not. Just the check, please.”

“Oh! You’re crying!!”

Good work Judie! Feels real. Nice that he said no to the last martini. Drowning your disappointments in martinis will only pull you down.
Great text!
My offering is also job-related, and how we deal with disappointments and conflicts.
Best wishes,
Anna

So sad but I just had to laugh at that title, ha, ha. She's better off without him.

The title certainly caught my attention! The dialogue sounds like something straight out of a movie script. Well done!

This is very exciting and desperately sad. From one nut to another (granted I'm much more of a nut), you're great!

Great job, Judie! Well written and a great read.

Thanks for stopping by to see my murex painting. Now if I could only learn how to market it effectively! lol

Hope that you're having a great weekend!

That Dirk was a dirty bird...after the drink wears off, your character will see that, in the long run, that she's better off.

Well done!

Judie: I missed your Thursday post, and now I can't find it. Was it removed?

Judie said...

Wow, JJ! Thanks for the nice comment on my Saturday Centus!!

If you click on the yellow highlighted words "Thursday post" that you see in my Centus, it will take you to Thursday's offering.

great take on the centus She is better off without that cheating scumbag... I'd rather drown my sorrows in a tub of Ben and Jerrys though

For dazee Dreamer - yours was great too, don't take the names out....having a bit of a different twist to each of ours, makes everyone stand out just a bit different....!

I found this funny yet sad...do tears and martini go hand in hand...?? your story stands out as always.

Judie,

I love the way you roll! - martiniwise.

And I truly admire your dialogue - seamless segues make it almost read it's self.

Your character come across as very sympathetic and genuine.

Great Centus.............Namaste..cj

Dirk smirk! Kick his A** to the curb. Here, you can have my martini and I prefer it dry too. I can't stand a sly pice o'crap man that cheats on a woman. At least have the courage to leave before you start up with someone else I say.
I know this was fictional, but you wrote it so darn well that I felt like it was real! Of course I know you are not married to Dirk. Good thing too, I may have kicked some ...well you know. I'm grooving to your music and have it playing while I continue on reading other blogs this morning.Hugs!♥~Ames

Never trust a man named Dirk. They probably all turn out to be D#*ks!
Great post, Judie! You really need to expand on some of these great story lines and submit a short story for publication. You truly have the makings of an author.

Great dialogue that has a realistic feel. But I'm sure she goes on to be SO much happier without Dirk-the-Jerk!

Drink is not the answer to heartbreak. A dagger for Dirk, I think!

Yes, this seemed real. I hope not but you hear an awful lot of stories like this. Good job.

You do a fantastic job writing dialogue - this feels very natural and real, almost like I'm eavesdropping. I admire that ability more than you can possibly know! Kat

Hey? Are we having cocktails with Ames?

Maybe it's not a great idea! ha!

This was soooo good, Judie. This whole thing was totally believable. Rod hasn't been traveling lately, has he?

mwahahahahahahaha!
