Whimsical Wednesday -- "What Tha'...??"

The Rogue Speaks:

I had this photo on my left side-bar for a while with the question, "What Is This?" but no one seemed to know! I thought I would throw it in the Whimsical Wednesday mix to see if anyone bit! No, it is not one of those scary creatures from the show "River Monsters!"

Befor I got my new and better computer with all the fancy-shmancy programs on it, I used to love to play with altering and painting some of my photos. Now I haven't a clue just how to do much of anything but blog, because all the photo programs are WAY TOO COMPLICATED for me to understand.

For more whimsical offerings, please check out dt haase's Whimsical Wednesday.

Now, here is the great reveal of just what the creature really is:

This is a close up of a section of trunk from a giant Saguaro cactus growing in my neighborhood!!!

Oh no Judie, this has to be the best altered photo of my EX! Actually makes him look half human, slithering from the boulder he belongs under. Put him back now...

Sorry I did not look more closely at your sidebar... we... er, owning that, I, short on time, tend to focus on the post in front of my nose. Now, before you revealed the original cactus close-up, I saw a fish, you know, one that hides in the coral and kind of blends right in, like a rock fish... except yours is a tad more colorful... Okay, Freud, what does this mean...? LOL!

This is so much fun Judie. At first, I thought you were being dark, and had made an interpretive rendition of the snake bite, but then realized this was presnakebite. It's awesome, and when painted, really does look like something out of Alien.

That is such a cool photo. I thought for sure it's some sort of lizzard in the desert, except for the suspicious whiskers!

I just love the art you share on Whimsical Wednesdays :) They're all so inspirational (and something I wish I could do without thinking so hard!) That photo is amazing! Even after you revealed the original photo, I still couldn't make out what it was because of the unique view point you took the picture from. And I absolutely love the altered photo! It's abstract and so colorful!

WOW! That's a cool transformation...my guess was going to be a fish emerging from a tunnel of some sort deep in the ocean! Popped by from Whimsical Wednesday...will be looking around your awesome blog for sure! POP ART MINIS

I was leaning toward some type of Catfish. Very cleverly done.
