Ready! Aim! Fire!!

The Rogue Speaks:

Rod and I decided to do our New Year's Eve thing last night, and avoid the rush. First we went to see "War Horse." I thought HE was the one who wanted to see it, because he mentioned that he wanted us to go to a movie, and the only one he recognized from the ads was that one. I wanted to see something else, but decided to acquiesce. Turns out, he DIDN'T want to see it, but thought I DID! It was horribly depressing and bloody, with horses and men getting killed and tortured in WWI. I was glad when it was over! Then we had a gift card to a local restaurant (actually we had TWO to that restaurant), and went there, only to find out that the place had changed hands and the card was no good. But it WAS good at another restaurant, so we went there! He gave the waitress the card, and lo and behold, the balance on the card was ZERO! We had used one of the two cards a while back, and he accidentally threw the good one ($50) away! We ate there anyway, and it was very good!

So tonight, the real New Year's Eve, he is planning on watching football, and I am going to "Girls' Game Night" at the home of my BFA. I gave her a new game for Christmas, "Truth or Crap," and we plan to try it out while eating fondue. Our game nights get rather wild, and I will have a report for you, replete with photos!

Now, on to my Saturday Centus! The prompt is in bold type.

Ready! Aim! Fire!!

I resolve to eat more fiber (but only if it’s covered in chocolate).

I resolve to take the dogs for a walk every day (to the mailbox and back).

I resolve to use up all the leftovers (especially the fudge and peanut brittle).

I resolve to make every day a special occasion.

I resolve to drink a glass of wine only on special occasions.

I resolve to conserve energy (by sleeping late).

I resolve to keep my house cleaner (and I’ll show Rod just how to do that).

Resolution, schmezolution! Whoever thought that New Year’s thing up?? Let’s shoot ‘um!

BE SURE TO TURN THE SOUND DOWN ON MY GROOVESHARK PLAYLIST BEFORE YOU START THE VIDEO!

What a mixed-up New Year celebration - that's the sort of thing that I thought only happened to us! You've endeared yourself to me even more!

At least you got a good meal out of it. Hard to be ticked at the restaurant when you were the ones that tossed the 'good' gift card. But as I always say, at least you get a blog post out of it!

Happy New Year!

Too funny...I've been trying to show Robb how to keep a neater house for the longest...seems he prefers ME to show him rather than following my example. Lol. P.s. the two furball dogs ARE in bed with me. They seem quite content and only stir when I sneeze! Happy (healthy) new year!

What a great way to spend New Years Eve...you doing what you want and he doing what he wants! I can't wait to hear all about it!

Love your resolutions - especially drinking only on special occasions...every day!

You crack me up! Sounds like yesterday's attempt at celebrating sucked big time. Those gift cards are a pain in the butt too. The Visa one's deduct a $2+ fee every month they are not used. We gave a $100 one as a wedding gift to our neighbors who lived in sin more years than not and only married to get the tax deduction. Well she came over a year later and said there was only about $70 on the card. Well read the fine print yoiu dumb ship (and I don't really mean "ship" here)and what did she expect me to do about it? Give here the $30? NOT. So I don't like those cards. And all I've got to say about those chocolate covered fiber bars is...DANG they're good. But don't venture to far away from the throne if you eat more that one. Just sayin. :D

Here's wishing you a happy, healthy, artsy fartsy New Year with all the trimmings. Love ya, mean it!~Ames

We had a nice cosy New Year's Eve ! From 6 guests we were reduced to 3 us included, the others had a cold and had to stay home. I had a ordered Sushi menu for each of us which was excellent and then with one eye watched a show on TV while chatting and suddenly midnight was there and the cats except Arthur disappeared under the beds !
The firework had started !

Hi, Judie, I'm so glad we didn't go to see "War Horse" after reading your comments about it! That was our original plan for last night, but we ended up staying longer than planned with my sis and didn't feel like going out anymore after we got home. Now I won't feel like I missed out!
Happy New Year!

I told my son, Jeff that we went to see it. He laughed! He said that in the scene where the British soldiers were charging the Germans, they were doing so with fencing swords! Bad error on the part of the film-maker--the British definitely fought with sabers!!!

Thanks for the movie review. Someone gave us movie tickets and we were thinking about leaving the house mess behind to go see that movie. I think I'll skip it. Why find something else to be depressed about - ha!

I like your little ditty!

it made me smile!

Here's to 2012 my friend. It has to be better, right?

Hugs and thanks for linking.
