Nothing left to do but.....

The Rogue Speaks:

These 50 word things that Jenny Matlock has us doing for Saturday Centus are giving me a headache! It's just too much thinking for someone my age! But since our country appears to be in such horrible shape right now, I think that there is an important lesson to be learned here. We all have to tighten our belts. Times are tough for every one but the rich people in America, but we shouldn't let that get us down. We have to hope that things will get better! So stop crying, and laugh a little! It's good for people to laugh! Laughing is a great way to relieve tension, and we sure have a lot of that these days. I even wrote a little poem about it. Here is my Saturday Centus. The prompt is in capital letters:

Your toilet’s overflowing.
Your lawn mower stopped amowing.
Your ‘fridgerator’s broken.
Your oven, it's asmokin’.
Your kitchen sink is dripping.
Your credit score is slipping.
Your puppy ate the phone cord.
A pink slip from the school board!
Think things can't get much worse?
A thief just stole your purse!!
LAUGH OUT LOUD!!!

Oh dear, that darn word verification. I exited to early and lost my comment and if I didn't like your blog so darn much I'd have just kept going.
So, while I'm here, I just want to say that it was a proper little poem and probably spoke for a lot of people. We just have to put on a happy face and keep moving forward, step by step.

At the end of that kind of day, what else can ya do?

The rich would argue--they can only buy one jet instead of two!

I look at it this way...I would love a new refrigerator...one of those shiney stainless steel ones, and hiring a lawn man would be a treat. But having my purse stolen would be my undoing. My entire life is in that purse. My credit cards and banking info, my house and car keys. Now that would make me cry.~Ames

Absolutely it's worth a try anyway after a day like all of that! Great short story about America (great old photo too!) and great poem for your finish!

Great poem Judie. I agree with the sentiment. Sometimes watching the news at night I feel I don't know whether to laugh or cry!

I enjoyed your poem and like your attitude. Laughing is much better for us than crying.

Great one, Judie! This smart poem adjusted my focus away from my own problems and put it on the real life stuff that can make or breaks many of us in these times.

Thanks!

To laugh under those circumstances seems impossible. But your post made me laugh out loud. Thanks. laurie

LOL!

The sunny side of life, it's tough to hold on to. I lost my dream home because of a jerk ex. But guess who's laughing now?

Great poem!

Outstanding Judie !

It is hard to laugh about things right now and since 2009, I had used the years 1977-1981 to compare and satisfied myself with that as a way to cope with the bleakness of it all. Now, it's far worse and all past comparisons have vaporized !

Thanks for the wonderful poem and a big, laugh out loud for me, I needed that !!!

Oh that's a brilliant poem to fit the times! And since the American people are so resilient and industrious, my guess is that the solutions to all of this may just come from the people.
